Set course for Firefly: The Game – Kalidasa
Rim space brims with new opportunities and your Contacts all have new jobs taking you and your crew out to Kalidasa. The Alliance has need of a vessel to transport passengers to the Rim; some eager and willing, others not so much. Zir Com is looking to expand its trade routes and Amnon Duul knows just the right crew for the job. Patience has some goods that she’s look to deliver to the Rim, and while you’re out there, you may want to avail yourself to some local color. Badger is up to no good and he’s got a line on some profitable ventures that require speed and discretion. And Niska is Niska, with all sorts of new horrible he needs doin’ out in Kalidasa.
The second Rim Space Expansion set for Firefly: The Game, Kalidasa adds a massive star system to the ‘Verse with loads of new opportunities for adventure and profit. No sector of space is safe as the long arm of the Alliance reaches out beyond the central planets with the addition of the Operative’s Corvette. Every region of the ‘Verse becomes more dangerous with the addition of new Nav Cards for Alliance Space, Border Space and Rim Space. Two new Contacts, including the twin brothers Fanty & Mingo, provide new work opportunities for ambitious crews, especially those willing to get their hands dirty. The bustling port of Beaumonde offers exciting new gear and supplies for captains of all sorts. The bounty of the Rim also flows back to other Supply Planets with new crew, gear and ship upgrades appearing on other worlds.  Finally, new Set Up cards, new Story Cards and a host of surprises await the bold.

Firefly: The Game – Kalidasa will be in stores in September.  Captains, check your charts and top off your fuel tanks, Kalidasa is calling!
"We found a new solar system and hundreds of new Earths were terraformed and colonized."
With Firefly: The Game – Kalidasa, captains will explore a whole new region of the ‘Verse - the far side of the Rim, Kalidasa. A densely-packed system, Kalidasa contains a number of new worlds to visit, from the frontier planet of Aberdeen to mighty gas giant, Zeus. The brightest planet in this cluster is Beaumonde, the beautiful jewel of Kalidasa. Captains will want to venture to this bustling planet and make contact with the twin brothers, Fanty & Mingo, as well as shop the markets for unique new Gear and scout for potential new Crew. Beaumonde is an excellent starting point to explore the region.

With so many frontier worlds, contacts from across the ‘Verse are eager to do business in Kalidasa. Now business in the Rim is picking up (and then delivering, and sometime highly questionable). Even struggling crews will be able to make work across the system until such time as they can find a real paying job. In Kalidasa, opportunity abounds. This wealth of worlds has attracted many on the run or them that's looking to start over, but the Alliance is never one to forget a slight and Parliament’s reach is long. Kalidasa is not the safe haven that many hoped it would be.

Find your fortune in the vast frontier of the Rim when you add Firefly: The Game – Kalidasa expansion to your game!

Captains who venture out to the Kalidasa system know that there is one source for well-paying work, the twin brothers Fantastic and Mingojerry Rample.  If it’s worth doin’ out in the Rim, then it’s a sure bet Fanty and Mingo are a part of the deal.  The twins are privy to all manner of illegal goings on, but there real claim to fame is transportation.  If someone’s gotta get somewhere that they have no place being or if they don’t want to attract undo attention, the twins network of shady ships and low-down coyotes are at their service (for the right price).  Once you’re in with the twins, they’ll offer a substantial pay-out when you facilitate their underground network.  They’ll also offer a crew rare and illegal items from the Rim which a clever entrepreneur can re-sell in the Core Systems to those with rapacious appetites.

Many of the Jobs offered by Fanty and Mingo (and other Contacts with Kalidasa work) have new Bonus Job Opportunities.  These Bonus Opportunities will take you to another planet to earn a bonus reward.  Many Jobs with these Bonus Opportunities have two Job Types.  When working these Jobs, Special Rules for both Job Types apply.  Bonus Opportunities need to be done after starting the Job, but before completing it, so plan a detour if you mean to cash-in.
Bonus Opportunities may only be done once. When you complete a Bonus Opportunity, place a special Completed Token on the Bonus Opportunity to mark it as finished and take the reward listed in the green bonus area. You do not have to pay your Crew a Cut of the Bonus Opportunity (making these jobs especially lucrative for a well-prepared Captain)!

Journey to the Rim with Firefly: The Game – Kalidasa, visit the industrial capital world Beaumonde to deal with Fanty and Mingo and discover for yourselves if double the trouble is really worth twice the reward.

Magistrate Higgins has built himself a small empire on his own moon in orbit of Harvest.  His unique mud can be fashioned into a light-weight ceramic material that is ten times harder than steel.  Now he’s looking to expand his holdings and he needs some reliable crews who won’t ask too many questions.  Bear in mind though that the Magistrate never forgets a slight, so if the so-called Hero of Canton, the man they call Jayne, is a part of your crew, you can forget doing business on Higgins’ Moon.  Get on his good side, however, and you’ll feel like you can take on more Work than you can handle!  And with the Magistrate’s jobs taking your boat far and wide, more Work is a good thing.
The Magistrate offers three distinct types of Jobs.  The first of these is the standard Mud Run, hauling his unique mud bricks to the far flung corners of the ‘Verse.  Captains who can haul a hold full of Cargo will find themselves richly rewarded.  Of course, these Heavy Loads are going to tax all but the most robust long haulers.
An operation like the mud factory in Canton is always in need of laborers.  Higgins favors indentured service over other forms of employment, passing the long term cost benefits onto his customers.  Turnover is surprising high, so he’s in constant need of new workers (often referred to as Mudders).  Picking up prospective workers can be a nice payday, especially if you can increase the headcount a bit by the time you arrive in Canton.

Of course in business, a few deals are going to go the wrong way, and if you’re the type to hold a grudge, having a ruthless crew on call to express your displeasure can be extremely satisfying.  When Magistrate Higgins says he’s going to bury someone, he quite literally means it.

Take my love, take my land, take me where I cannot stand…

“After the Earth was used up, we found a new solar system and hundreds of new Earths were terra-formed and colonized. The central planets formed the Alliance and decided all the planets had to join under their rule. There was some disagreement on that point. After the War, many of the Independents who had fought and lost drifted to the edges of the system, far from Alliance control. Out here, people struggled to get by with the most basic technologies; a ship would bring you work, a gun would help you keep it. A captain's goal was simple: find a crew, find a job, keep flying.” – Shepherd Derrial Book
